    Never underestimate the cleaning abilities of our humble dish washing liquids we all have. But like every cleaning product out there, there is a list of, do's & don'ts. In today's modern homes and office space cleaning you do need to read the labels as some surfaces will not handle a degreaser (which most dish soaps are) and the last thing a commercial cleaning business wants is to destroy surfaces. Here are a few tips I have read from the Ajax site since it is a well-known brand in New Zealand and the world and often seen in office spaces. Do's - From Ajax, " Dish soaps are formulated to facilitate the removal of greasy baked-on food from dishes (glasses, plates, utensils, pots, etc.). They also suspend (emulsify) the grease in the wash water to facilitate rinsing." My tip - A good way for keeping sinks unblocked (if not already) and smell free (other than not putting coffee grinds or food down it) is too full the sink with hot water periodically and good squirt of dish soap. Slowly mix it up so it doesn't froth up and then pull the drain plug. To many times we just rinse items with insufficient water drainage. This cheap and effective tip may save you on more costly products or calling a plumber. Don'ts - From Ajax, "I t's not supposed to be used on carpet and rug stains. And please, never think about using it for bathing or shampooing. Also, don't use it as a replacement for Laundry Detergent. Never use your dish liquid in an automatic dishwasher (the suds will overflow), and never ever mix your dish liquid with bleach or ammonia." My tip -Using it as a car wash substitute will damage your clear coat and cause the sun to fade your paint even more. A purpose made wash n wax is what you need.
